Orval Leola Austin Crider passed away on October 31, 2019.

She was born on November 13, 1924, in Blanco County.

Orval started life in a small family tent, the youngest sibling of two older sisters and an older brother. She met William Robert (Bob) Crider and married him at her sister’s house on North Street in Kerrville, TX on February 17, 1945. Together they built a home and raised a family.

She was preceded in death by all of her siblings, Bob, and her second daughter, Doris Smith.

She is survived by her children, Lois Highsmith, Jim Crider and Judy Schlotzhauer, as well as nine grandchildren and several great grandchildren and great great grandchildren, not to mention countless nieces and nephews.

Her family will always remember her as being the center of our family gatherings. She brought us all together and made sure we always knew we were welcome and loved.

Services will be held at 1 PM, Tuesday, November 5, 2019 at Grimes Funeral Chapels of Kerrville.

Burial will follow at Smith Cemetery in Bergheim.
