John McCullough, Jr., age 85, of Newark, DE, son of the late John Sr. and Mamie McCullough, passed away Tuesday, October 29, 2019. John was born and raised in Pensacola, FL, before moving to New York to live with his aunt and uncle. In New York he met the love of his life, Jestine. John treasured his family and made many memories with them. He was an avid golfer for years before his health started to fail. John enjoyed fishing, watching football, and gardening. He was known in the neighborhood for having a perfectly maintained lawn. John was employed at Grumman Data Systems, now known as Northrop Grumman, more that 20 years as Duty Director in the Computer Operations Department.

John is survived by his beloved wife of 51 years, Jestine McCullough; son, Michael McCullough; sister-in-law, Bobbie McCullough; nephews, Myron McCullough (Shirley) and Curtis McCullough; nieces, Bernadette Shaw, Barbara Harris, and Victoria Wilson; and many cousins and relatives. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, James McCullough; and niece, Janice McCullough.

A visitation will be held Thursday, November 7, 2019, from 10-11 AM at Strano & Feeley Family Funeral Home, 635 Churchmans Rd., Newark, DE 19702 followed by a service in celebration of John’s life at 11 AM. Burial will follow in All Saints Cemetery.
