Robert N. Cooke, age 91, of Harbeson, DE passed away surrounded by his loving family on Friday, October 25, 2019 at his home.

He was born in Chester, PA on January 30, 1928 son of the late William Joseph Cooke, Sr. and the late Mary Jane Victor (Kerr) Cooke. Mr. Cooke proudly served his country in the United States Army Air Corps just after WWII as an aircraft mechanic. He also served in the Merchant Marines.

Robert worked for General Motors for 39 years before his retirement. He was a member of St. Jude Catholic Church in Lewes, DE, a Fourth Degree Knight with the Knights of Columbus Star of the Sea Council 7297 in Rehoboth Beach, DE and a member of the Ancient Order of the Hibernians in Ocean City, MD.

In addition to his parents, seven brothers and two sisters, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Ethel M. Cooke in 2015 and a son, Robert N. Cooke, Jr. in 2006. He is survived by his three sons, Charles “Gus” Cooke and his wife, Michele of North Wilmington, DE, William Cooke and his wife, Lisa of Smyrna, DE and George Cooke and his wife, Colleen of Harbeson, DE; 13 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.

A committal service will be held at 2 PM on Friday, November 8, 2019 in the chapel of the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 26669 Patriots Way, Millsboro, DE 19966.
