The NZBDM birth index lists the birth of a John Attwood to Mary Ann and John Attwood on 28th June 1858 with no specific location. A number of family trees have attributed this birth to this John Henry Atwood who's parents are Mary (Dunn) and John Atwood. However, the headstone, as well as the cemetery and NZBDM death records, lists the age at death as 12 years which would suggest a birth year of circa 1855.
