It is with deep regret that the staff and management of Harrington Funeral Home Inc. announce the transition of the Late:

Retired CSM Curtis Eugene Thomas Sr. of Valdosta, Georgia - was born on June 23, 1945 to Mattie Wrentz and the late Thomas Bridges in Pavo, Georgia. By Devine orders from Heaven above Curtis was summoned to lay down his sword and shield to study war no more from this walk of life on October 20, 2019.

Curtis married the former Barbara Head in 1968 and celebrated 52 years of marriage. He enlisted in the United States Army on July 1, 1964 after graduating from Pinevale High School and quickly rose through the ranks before obtaining his appointment as Command Sergeant Major. In his rise from Private to Command Sergeant Major, he held leadership positions at all levels, in the Field Artillery and Military Police Corps, all with distinction.

The Celebration of Life Services will be held Saturday, October 26, 2019 at 11:00 AM from the sanctuary of the St. Paul African Methodist Episcopal Church, 419 South Ashley Street, Valdosta Georgia- burial will follow in the Southview Cemetery. Rev. Bruce Francis, Pastor however Dr. Booker T. Rose, Jr., will officiate.

Curtis was preceded in death by his father, Thomas Bridges of Moultrie, Georgia and step father, Barney Thomas of Valdosta Georgia, his brothers, Frankie Thomas, Barney Thomas, of Valdosta, Ga., and Theotis Bridges of Moultrie, Ga. and sister, Sonya Bridges of Moultrie, Ga.

Services of comfort are being provided by Harrington Funeral Home Inc, 713 Lake Park Road- Valdosta Georgia location
