Richard Lynn Dodd, an electrician and veteran, died unexpectedly on October 28th at the age of 58.
Richard is survived by his mother; sons, Brien and Nathaniel Dodd; as well as Brandy Valentine, Casey and Brock Herbert; his brother and sister, Bill Dodd, and Peggy Trujillo; and many grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his father, wife of 20 years, Terrie Dodd, and brothers, Michael, David and Ryan Dodd.

Richard was born in Salt Lake City, Utah on April 4, 1961 to Clarence and Barbara Dodd. He enjoyed riding bikes, playing baseball and being outside with his family and friends. He graduated from Bountiful High School in 1979. He proudly served in the United States Army in the Gulf War as part of Operation Desert Storm, and was a hard working journeyman electrician and Union Member.

He was a devoted husband, and a loving and tireless father and grandfather. Richard was a true patriot who deeply cared for his country. He loved the freedom of the outdoors. Never one to sit idle, he kept busy fishing, camping, gardening, cooking and playing the guitar among other interests. He had a fondness and deep respect for all animals, a love for country and rock and roll music, a taste for old western movies, and through “thick and thin”.., a diehard Denver Broncos’ Fan. He was all this and so much more. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends and all who knew him.

Friends and family may visit from 12:30-1:30 p.m. Saturday, November 2, 2019, at Lindquist’s Bountiful Mortuary, 727 N. 400 E. Bountiful. Following the visitation will be a Graveside Service at Centerville City Cemetery, 700 E. 400 S. Centerville, Utah.
