Laura L. “Rene” Hamlin Rodriguez, 82, of Houston, passed away Saturday, October 26, 2019, at her residence.

Rene was born November 21, 1936 in Borger, to parents; George O. and Ellen Margaret Payne Hamlin, a former resident of Baytown, and has resided in Houston for the past 11 years. She attended Roy Miller and Robert E. Lee High Schools, was a former member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Baytown and was recently attending Queen of Angels Catholic Church in Dickinson. During her career, she was employed by Exxon as a process technician and physical therapist at the San Jacinto Methodist Hospital. Rene also enjoyed playing the piano, sewing, travel, and teaching dance at the Baytown Community Center.

Mrs. Rodriguez was preceded in death by her father: George O. Hamlin, mother: Ellen Margaret Payne Hamlin-Moore, husband: Eulalio R. Rodriguez, and sister: Margaret “Margie” Snider.

She is survived by her children: Chris Rodriguez, Margaret Autrey, Marisa Galik, Colin Rodriguez, Courtney Rodriguez, and Mandy Theiss and husband Carl, sister: Wanda Bevis, grandchildren: Stephanie Chauncey, James Autrey, Anthony Rodriguez, Dominic Gudknecht, Michael Gudknecht, Cassie Rodriguez-Hill, Calien Lopez, Chad Rodriguez, Kelsie Chisholm, Derek Theiss, Victoria Theiss, and Nicholas Theiss, 17 great-grandchildren, nephews: Rick Hausman and Ross Bevis, numerous other relatives, and friends.
