Fairbury Blade, 7 July 1894. On Saturday June 30, 1894, occurred the death of James Courtney Dawson, aged 9 years, 5 months. He was the third son of Mr. and Mrs. W..A. Dawson. The news that "Babe"was dead shocked the community. He had been sick a short time from the dread scarlet fever. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, July 1st. at the home. Remains were temporarily laid to rest in Weston cemetery.
