Obituary: lva Bertha May, 93, of Spencer, WV died Wednesday, October 30, 2019, at her home. She was born June 30, 1926 in Nebo, Clay County, WV, a daughter of the late Orville Starcher and Ota Jarvis Northrup. On June 18, 1942 she married Ronel Jennings May. She is survived by sons, Orville Eugene (Patty) May, Roy Allen (Nellie) May, Gary Cecil (Veronica) May and Leonard Keith (Ramona) May; daughter, Doris Anne (John) Hudkins; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; brothers, Marlyn (Dot) Starcher and Carol “Kayo” Starcher; and sisters, Mardel Nevins, Lydia Gay (Paul) Parker, and Sandy Funk. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by husband; son, Spencer J. May; daughter, Linda Carol May; and sisters, Vesta Arnold and Ruby Matheny. A funeral service will be held Saturday, November 2, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. at Stump Funeral Home & Cremation, Inc., Arnoldsburg, WV with Rev. Clark Samples officiating. Visitation will be held Saturday from 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. Interment will be in Zion Hill Cemetery, Uler, WV.
