PEKIN ~ Johnny Charles Beasley, Sr., 63, of Burnsville, Minnesota, passed away at 2:30 p.m. Monday, October 28, 2019 at his home in Burnsville. He was formerly of Pekin.

Born October 14, 1956 in Pekin to Max Richard and Gloria Lucille (Buchanan) Beasley, he married Ruth Ann Hunt on September 7, 1978 in San Diego, California. She survives.

Also surviving are one son, Johnny Charles (Rhonda) Beasley, Jr. of Savage, Minnesota; two daughters, Gloria Beasley of Pekin and Barbara (Greg) McNealy of Guion, Arkansas; seven granddaughters, Avery Beasley, Payton Beasley, Elliot Beasley, Alexis Duquenne, Grace Beasley, Samantha McNealy and Selena McNealy and two great-grandsons, Gabriel Landkammer and Troy Moody; two brothers, Scott (Jill) Carpenter of Pekin and Emerson (Amy) Dewitt of Waverly, Illinois and two sisters, Janet (Bob) Armstrong of Hettick and Misty (Nick) Murphy of Springfield.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

He had proudly served in the United States Navy for six years and worked as an insulator in construction for 30 years.

Johnny was very passionate about his grandchildren and enjoyed fishing and gardening. He is finally healed after battling cancer for over ten years and undergoing two transplant surgeries.

His memorial service will be at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, November 5, 2019 at Pekin First Church of the Nazarene. The Rev. W. Lloyd Brock will officiate. Military rites will be conducted at the church following the memorial service by the United States Navy and the Tazewell Area Ceremonial Team. Private inurnment will be in Spring Lake Cemetery in rural Manito.
