Mrs. Rimes died Wednesday, Feb. 21, 2007, at Midland Hospice House in Topeka.
She was born Aug. 11, 1920, in Topeka, the daughter of Raymond E. and Edith S. Johnson Leech. She graduated from Topeka High School in 1937 and Baker University in 1943. She later attended Jarrett Biblical Institute in Evanston, Ill.
Mrs. Rimes worked in the AT&SF offices from 1940 to 1941 and then served as director of youth and religious education at First United Methodist Church from 1943 to 1945 under Ormal L. Miller. She was a business administrator for the Kansas East Conference Council on Ministries for 15 years and retired in 1982.
She was a member of First United Methodist Church, where she served as a diaconal minister. She and her husband were founding members of the Supper Club at the church.
She married Norman G. Rimes on Nov. 24, 1945, in Topeka. He died May 29, 1995.
She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Jeanne R. Rimes, in September 1998.
Survivors include a daughter, Linda M. Finger and husband Richard, Lawrence; and two grandchildren, Kelsey and Kristofer.
