She was born June 12, 1923, to Ercel Porter and Edith Mae (Raine) Lewis in rural Morton County.
She married Roy Simmons on March 12, 1941, in Clayton, N.M. He survives.
She attended Wilburton School. She was a homemaker. She and her husband farmed and raised a family in Texas County, Okla.
She was a member of First Church of God, Friendly Neighbors, ESA Sorority and Chit-Chat, all of Elkhart.
Survivors also include three sons, Dennis Simmons and wife, Marie, Albuquerque, N.M., Larry Simmons, Elkhart, and Phillip Simmons, Keyes, Okla.; one daughter, Sandy Turner, Elkhart; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Gloria Lawrence and husband, Bob, Orlando, Fla., Cora Mae Jurasevich, Reno, Nev., and Anna Bea Presse, Boise, Idaho.
* Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the First Church of God in Elkhart with the Rev. Gary Murrell presiding.
Burial will be at Elkhart Cemetery.
