Nancy Carolyn Gray
January 24, 1949 - October 29, 2019
Nancy Carolyn Gray (you probably knew her as “Nan”) entered eternal life on October 29, 2019. Her spirit is carried on by her husband of 52 years, 4 children, 5 grandchildren, one surviving sibling and an extended family of relations and friends from every walk of life. We were blessed to learn many valuable lessons from “Nanny” during her 70 years, among them:

Never throw away a Kentucky wildcat t-shirt, it might be a collector item someday.

Always mind your p’s and q’s

When in doubt, mark it in your book.

Allow anyone to your home for dinner but not everyone can stay overnight.

Clorox is the new black, it goes on everything. She was the one who brought the acid wash trend back into style!

Dance while everyone is watching don’t matter who it is or if they care because your body won’t always be able.

Meatballs and cornbread salad are a must for all.

If you wanted to know if you looked good in an outfit, you always ask Nanny. She will tell it to you straight no matter what.

There are never enough players for a game of Yahtzee.

FBI, CIA who needs any of those when you have “Nanny”

If Facebook had a queen, she would be it.

Yourn adds value to a sentence “get yourn clothes put away”

Those who’ve taken Nanny’s lessons to heart will continue to ensure that their dinner table will always be full, every item you buy will eventually become a collector’s item, playing Yahtzee makes bad days better, clothing should not be tight fitted, everyone’s blood should be blue (Kentucky wildcat blue, through and through), if you fall down, laugh and get right back up and laugh some more.

Above all, Nanny spoke — to everyone, about everything. You may read this and recall a conversation from her that touched your heart, tickled your funny bone, or maybe made you say “huh?” because she had no filter and talked to everyone as if they were her children.

She is survived by her husband, children and grandchildren whose photos she would share with all of her Facebook friends: Larry Sr, Larry Jr (wife: Vickie, children Paige and Alex); Chris (wife: Stacy) Tina (husband: Mark; children: Hunter and Taylor); Gabrielle (husband: Jason child: Gray.); many in-laws, nieces, nephews, friends and family, too numerous to list but not forgotten.

Nanny is reunited with her parents Judge and Laura Creech and her siblings Alvin, Betty, Louise, Carlos, George, Maggie and is predeceased by her brother Eddie Creech (wife: Cathy.)
