Joseph Antonio Roland Lariviere was born September 2nd 1903 to Cyrille Telesphore Lariviere and Malvina Martel-Lariviere (later Johnson) in Biddeford, York, Maine. Following the death of his father in 1928 and the Market Crash the following year, he, his mother and siblings moved to northern New Hampshire where an older sister had previously relocated, namely the city of Berlin. His sister Emilienne married Albert Roberge (of Berlin) and later settled in the nearby town of Northumberland. Sisters Georgiana (who married Clyde Castner of Auburn, ME) and Jeanne Florence (who married Joseph Savard of Northumberland) also settled in Northumberland.
In Berlin, Antonio met and married Amanda Marie Lessard. They had five sons together. Sadly, he and Amanda parted during the hard years of the second World War. He left the family and relocated to the East Longmeadow, Massachussets area where two of his sisters were living (younger sister Lumina and her husband Arthur Tardiff of Berlin, NH) as well as his eldest sister Frezilda (widow of Joseph Godefroy Martel of St. Fortunat, Quebec, Canada).
Antonio worked as a painter and wallpaper hanger all of his life. In 1966 at age 62, he was hospitalized in Springfield, MA with pneumonia. He also had a malignant brain tumor. He died on March 6th and was buried in St. Michael's Cemetery in Springfield.
