Mr. Turner was preceded in death by his father, Lencil Turner; mother, Ruby Turner; and special uncle, Guy Morgan.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Evelyn Turner of Vance, Ala.; sons, Leonard Turner, Jr. of Jacksboro, Tenn., Jeff Turner (Mary) of Enterprise, Ala., Michael Turner (Ginger) of Vance, Ala., and Todd Turner (Amy) of Merced, Calif.; sister, Betty Feezell (Jimmy) of Greeneville, Tenn.; brothers, Cecil Turner of Highlands, N.C., Charles Turner of Greeneville, Tenn., Edward Turner (Mary) of Greeneville, Tenn., and David Turner (Dana) of Bybee, Tenn.; grandchildren, Erica Turner, Shaliah Turner, Lindsay M. Turner, Dustin Turner, Danielle Anderson (Kevin), Sara Turner, Katherine Allison (Matt), Emily Turner, Stephen Turner, Meagan Turner, Anna Turner, Melina Turner, and Lindsey Turner; great-grandchildren, Sara Turner, Nora Turner, and Olivia Anderson.
Leonard Turner was a loving husband, father, and papaw who was compassionate and loved to help others. Leonard proudly served in the Vietnam War where he was seriously wounded and received the Purple Heart for his actions. He loved to hunt, fish, garden, camp, and just to be outside! Leonard enjoyed talking with others and playing with his grandchildren. He was a hard worker for many years inside and outside the home. He was truly a jack-of-all-trades. He will be truly missed.
