Bessie Virginia Neie, 85, of Benbrook died Thursday, April 29, at Lake Lodge Nursing Center.

Services were Monday, May 3, at Benbrook United Methodist Church. Burial was in Benbrook Cemetery under the direction of Biggers Funeral Home.

Mrs. Neie was born Nov. 27, 1913, in Fort Worth. She grew up in Hamilton County and was married to Belvin W. Neie on May 18, 1939. They lived in Hamilton until 1943, when they moved to Fort Worth. They later settled in Benbrook in 1945. She was an elementary teacher in the Fort Worth Independent Schools from 1955 until 1975. She had been a member of Benbrook United Methodist Church since 1950 and loved to play the piano, organ, guitar and fiddle.

She was preceded in death by her husband on April 17, 1993.

Survivors include two daughters, Virginia and Gary Ross and Lynda and Tom Casey; a brother, Ben Cowling; four grandchildren, Gary Ross Jr., Mark Ross, David Casey, and Ann Casey; five great-grandchildren, Gary Wayne Ross, Andres Ross, Tyler Ross and Ethan Ross, and Rachael Ross; and a number of nieces and nephews.
