MRS. MARGARET CHISHOLM BYRD age 68 of Wadesboro, North Carolina departed this life on Tuesday, October 29, 2019 at Heartland Living & Rehab, Greensboro, North Carolina.
Margaret Chisholm Byrd, daughter of the late Lender L. Chisholm and Martha Kendall Chisholm was born on December 31, 1950 in Anson County and departed this life on October 29, 2019 in Greensboro, NC.
Keeping Christ first in her life, Margaret joined Flat Rock Missionary Baptist Church at an early age where she was a dedicated, faithful member until her illness kept her from attending service. She took on several roles in the church for many years including the Missionary and Pastors Aide Auxiliaries.
Margaret was educated in the public schools of Anson County. She worked more than 20 years at West Knitting Mill and retired from the Anson County School System.
Margaret enjoyed fishing, arts and crafts, and ceramics.
She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings: Glenn R. Chisholm and Mary Edith Chisholm.
She leaves to cherish the loves of her life, her children: Kerlisa Byrd of Greensboro, NC, Chandra Byrd of Greensboro, NC, Herman Byrd Jr. of the home, Wadesboro, NC, and Mavis Byrd-Marshall (Dennis) of Salisbury, NC; three grandchildren: Sylvia, Alana and Queen; a special niece, Lasonya and two special nephews, Marcus and Cleveland that she viewed as her own. A host of brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
The Homegoing Services will be on Saturday, November 2, 2019, 1:00pm, Flat Rock Missionary Baptist Church, Wadesboro, North Carolina.
Burial will follow in the family plot of the Church Cemetery located on Highway 52 South, Wadesboro, North Carolina.
