August 10, 1948 – October 25, 2019

Charles Wayne Francis, 71, of Argyle, passed away Friday, October 25, 2019, at his home. Memorial services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Saturday, November 2nd, at Bright-Holland Funeral Home with Rev. Justin Wideman officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. Mr. Francis, the son of Elvis Alexander Francis & Dorothy Fay Kirkpatrick Francis, was born Aug. 10, 1948, in Wellington, TX. He was preceded in death by his parents and a nephew, Bobby Gene Gamblin, Jr. Survivors include three children; Deena Beeson & husband Robert of Denison, Jason Francis of McKinney and Alyssa Greenwood Francis & partner Manuél of Argyle, grandchildren; Brent Beeson & wife Kasie, Weston Reaney, Breeland Lawson, McKenna Lawson & partner Josh and Conner Beeson, five great grandchildren, Adelynn, Christopher, Jacob, Kaydon and Kailee, one sister, Joyce Vance & husband Harold of Woodville along with two nieces & a nephew, Melinda Nicklas, Cynthia Jenkins and Kenneth Gamblin, and his beloved dog, Dooley.

Charles grew up in Texas City and my sisters (Sue & Ann) and I lived in Euless. Families visited when they could then, we all piled in together, the kids made pallets on the floor if we needed to.
During hurricane season our Gulf Coast relatives would stay with us, for them it was a tragedy, and of course it was, but for us we got to see our Aunts, Uncles and cousins so it was a celebration!!
We idolized Charles! We looked up to him and looked forward to those visits, occasionally he would take the bus to visit us in the summer and I would do the same thing to stay with them in Texas City.
It’s sad that we lost him so early, it feels unreal, but anyone that knew Charles Wayne will miss him and remember him for the kind, sweet person he was.
