She was the daughter of the late Robert Frank and Lula Margaret Cameron Lemon. She was preceded in death by her three brothers, Edward William Lemon, Elmer Vernon Lemon, and Charlie Lemon, and five sisters, Nannie Lemon Smith, Gladys Lemon, Fannie Lemon, Louise Lemon Cooper, and Jean C. Lemon Simmons. She was survived by her husband, Willie Edward Ford; three daughters, Brenda Ford Barker (Neil), Kaye Ford Morgan, and Darlene Ford; one granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews.
