John L. Black, 95, Franklinton, La., a retired farmer died Monday in Franklinton. He was a member of Summerland Baptist Church and the son of the late William and Mary Broomfield Black. He had been a former resident of Jones County and had lived in Franklinton for one year.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, 2 p.m., from Summerland Baptist Church with burial in Summerland Cemetery. The body will be placed in the church one hour prior to services.

Survivors include eight sons, A. M. Black, Heidelberg; H. D. Black, Ted W. Black, W. A. Black, all of Soso; W. E. Black, Natchez; J. L. Black Jr., Jackson; H. C. Black and D. R. Black, both of Laurel; nine daughters, Mrs. E. R. Sims, Louin; Mrs. L. B. Sims, Mrs. Lewel Jones, both of Bay Springs; Mrs.. C. A. Beard, Mrs. Oliver Parker, Mrs. Alice Roberts, all of Laurel; Mrs. Reese Thornton, Franklinton, La.; Mrs. Jim Miller, Mrs. Brooksie Horn, both of Jackson; 54 grandchildren; 84 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild; two brothers, Alex Black, Taylorsville; Rev. Charlie Black, Pinola; two sisters, Mrs. Alta Gambrell, Taylorsville and Mrs. Ester Hinton, of Soso.

Memory Chapel, Bay Springs, is in charge of arrangements.
