Matthew died in his home. Born in Rockford, the son of Kathryn and Scott Christiansen and Russell and Sharon Brown. Graduated from East High School in 1992, and Rock Valley College in 1994, transferring to Western Illinois University this fall to study for a bachelor of arts degree in communications. Member of Alpine Lutheran Church. He was an avid sports fan and played football for East High. He also was sports reporter for Rock Valley Forge and Rockford Journal.
