Jeanetta Van Der Hart was born to Walter and Helen (Dahm) Van Der Hart on June 19, 1927. She was the fourth of eleven children and raised on a farm in the Peoria, Iowa area. She attended grade school at Sheesley, a one room country school, a few miles northwest of Peoria. There were no buses running in rural areas, and few country children went on to high school. So, Jeanetta helped her mother with the many duties of a large family. Later she took a high school correspondence course by mail.

Jeanetta received the Lord Jesus as her Savior while still young and has faithfully attended Pella Gospel Chapel in Pella, Iowa. She conducted Bible Clubs for children and youth as well as taught Sunday School. She also sponsored youth to Bible camps.

In her 20's, Jeanetta started working for the Rolscreen Company in Pella, now Pella Corp, and was there for many years. During this time she bought a house on University Street in Pella. After retiring from Pella Corp, Jeanetta did part time work at other places. In late 2010, 'Aunt Netta' moved into an apartment on Independence Street.

Jeanetta was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Helen Van Der Hart; an infant brother, Thomas, her two sisters, Stella Taylor in 1982 and Nelly Yeo in 2007, a brother, John, in 2002, and later brothers, Jacob in 2011 and Henry in 2012. She is survived by four brothers: Godert Vander Hart of Waterloo, Iowa, James Vander Hart and his wife, Freda, of New Sharon, Iowa, Raymond Vander Hart and his wife, Arlene, of Pella, Clarence Vander Hart of Glendale, Arizona; and a sister-in-law, Ann (Henry) Vander Hart of Mobile, Alabama. Funeral services were held on Monday, July 1, at the Van Dyk - Duven Funeral Home. Memorials are suggested for Christian Mission for the Deaf or the Hospice of Pella Comfort House.
