Sara Lee Collins of Gilbert, Arizona passed away on April 29, 2012 peacefully in her home surrounded by friends and family at the age of 75. Sara was born on March 27, 1937 in Holbrook, Arizona to Dwight and Agnes (Peggy) Shannon. Sara was raised in Winslow, Arizona and attended Winslow High School, where she receieved a music scholorship to Northern Arizona University. She retired from Centel Phone Company after 25 years of service as a Service Manager. After moving to Gilbert in 1989, Sara became an active member of the First United Methodist Church of Gilbert. Sara was preceded in death by her husband of 30 years, Robert Marshall Collins. She is survived by her loving family; daughters, Rachel Collins of Phoenix, AZ, Beth (Patrick) Sweeney of Waddell, AZ, Barbara (Steve) Stiers of Gilbert, AZ; and sons, Brian (Irene) Collins of Huntley, IL, Brad (Regina) Collins of Medina, IL, Rob (Cindy) Collins of Highland Park, IL as well as seven grandchildren, Connor, Kayla, Jillian, Julian, Zachary, Morgan, and Kaitlyn. She is also survived by her beloved cat, Sassy and her grand-dog, Jack. Memorial Services will be held on Monday, May 7, 2012 at 11 AM at the First United Methodist Church of Gilbert, 331 S. Cooper Rd. Gilbert, AZ 85233. Ladies are encouraged to wear hats to the service. All are welcome to a reception to follow in the activity center room of the church. Floral tributes may be sent directly to the church. Charitable donations may be made to Sara Lee Collins Memorial Fund, which may be mailed to the First United Methodist Church of Gilbert and also to Daughters of the Nile, c/o Bobbie Balthazor PQ, 5915 E.
