Shirley was a native of Los Angeles, California. She graduated from Hamilton High School and the University of Southern California, where she majored in art and was a proud sister in the Pi Beta Phi Sorority. She lived in California her entire life and had moved 15 years ago to La Quinta, an area that she particularly enjoyed. She treasured the beauty of the desert each day and especially treasured the friendships that she made through the groups that were so important to her: Palm Desert Community Church, The Junior League of the Palm Springs Desert Communities, Pi Phi Desert Cities, Trojan League of the Desert, and PGA West golf and bridge groups.
She was an accomplished athlete in the sports of tennis and golf. An entrepreneur, she was the founder and owner of The New Elbow, a medical device that alleviates elbow pain due to athletic and occupational injuries. She was an authentic, warm, kind, and generous person who put the Lord first, her family second, and especially loved to tout the accomplishments of her five beloved grandchildren. Her friends made her days full of joy and meaningful activity.
