Doris A. Phillips, 94, of Ottumwa died at 1:15 a.m. December 4, 2020 at Vista Woods Care Center in Ottumwa.
She was born September 9, 1926 in Solon, IA to Edgar E. and Nina Large Johnson. Doris married Paul J. “Bud” Phillips on January 12, 1946 in Ottumwa and he preceded her in death on April 9, 2010.
Doris was raised in Ottumwa. She worked for Orval “Pappy” and Florence Myers at the Broadmor Café and Molly’s for over 30 years. She then worked at the Iowa Department of Social Services for 13 years before retiring in 1987.
Doris is survived by several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Wilbur Johnson and Edgar “Snowball” Johnson Jr. and a sister, Dorothy Orman.
Limited open visitation for friends will be 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday, December 7th at Reece Funeral home.
Graveside services and burial will be 2 p.m. Monday December 7th at Memorial Lawn Cemetery with Pastor Mel Kendall officiating.
