He was retired. He previously worked for Clayton Winter & Son of Gosport,H.E. Henderson and the Morgan County Highway Department, where he was road supervisor. He had worked for Sycamore Services in Martinsville as a group facilitator.
He was a 1959 graduate of Eminence High School and a member of the The Way of the Cross Church in Martinsville. He enjoyed the outdoors, staying active and his church.
Other survivors include a son, Derald B. Pottorff of Paragon; a daughter, Kim Pottorff of Paragon; two brothers, Austin E. Pottorff of Martinsville and Marvin L. Pottorff of Poland; two sisters; Ima B. Stayton of Martinsville and Erma Moody of Linton and two grandchildren, Amber and Kyle Orebaugh. He is survived by his wife, Linda K. (Van Winkle) Pottorff of Paragon, whom he married May 20, 1964.
Services were entrusted to Neal and Summers Mortuary of Martinsville, Indiana.
