Deborah Louise Crawford (Laster) age 69, of Kingsport entered the arms of her Lord and Savior, Sunday October 27th 2019 surrounded by her family, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Her strength, unwavering faith and the love, support and prayers of family and friends helped carry her. She grew up in Church Hill, lived years in Deltona Florida and had spent the last 20 years with her devoted and loving husband in Fall Branch.
After serving in the US Air Force, Debbie became a nurse. She retired after 42 caring years working in critical care, nursing management and education, having spent the last 20 at Holston Valley Medical Center in CICU. Debbie had a heart full of love and a radiating smile. She was a devout Christian, animal lover, Dallas Cowboys and UT Vols fan. She was a member of Sullivan Baptist Church and the Dan’l Boone Antique car club.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Genis L. and Geraldine (Gerry) Laster of Kingsport.
She is survived by her husband, Robert L. Crawford of Fall Branch, daughters Michelle Triantafyllidis and husband of Palm Coast, FL; Jennifer Moore of Melbourne, FL; grandsons Brandon Guerra of FL; Gryphon and Taven Moore of Melbourne, FL; brothers David Laster of Kingsport, Hershel Laster of Lyons, OH; sister Chris Wheelock of Kingsport; brother and sister in law David and Marge Campbell of Sullivan Gardens and several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and many special friends.
A celebration of life ceremony will be held at Hamlett Dobson Funeral Home, Fall Branch from 5-8 pm on Thursday, October 31, 2019. The service will be conducted at 8:00 pm with Pastor Jeff Strong from Sullivan Baptist Church officiating. She will be laid to rest after cremation at Mountain Home National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or to Sullivan Baptist Church.
Special thanks for all who made her battle and passing easier, including the doctors and nurses at Kingsport Cancer Center and Holston Valley Medical Center.
