Stella Mae Womac Hamilton, 80, of Calhoun, passed away on Tuesday morning, Nov. 20, 2018, at her home. A native and lifelong resident of McMinn County, she was the daughter of the late Carson and Molly Weir Womac, and was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Forrest Hamilton. Stella was gifted at playing the piano by ear and was an avid bird watcher. She loved to go the Tennessee Lady Vols basketball games. She loved Gospel singing and loved her Heavenly Father. Survivors include two daughters, Yvonna Hamilton of Calhoun, and Carla and Charles Smith of Charleston; two sons, Vann Hamilton of Calhoun, and Shane Hamilton of Calhoun; two grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one brother, Bobby Womac of Riceville; one sister, Patsy Hicks of Cleveland; and several nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday at Lower Spring Creek Cemetery with the Rev. Jimmy Lewis officiating. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
