Clayton Clark was born on June 13, 1937 in Elmore. He was the son of Murrell and Pearl (Stanley) Clark. Clayton was baptized as an infant and was later confirmed in his faith as a youth at Elmore United Methodist Church in Elmore. He received his education in Elmore and was a graduate of the Elmore High School Class of 1955.
On April 21, 1956, Clayton was united in marriage to Elsie Holm at Trinity Lutheran Church in Elmore. Clayton and Elsie made their home in Elmore, and then moved around for several years. In 1967, the couple moved to Norwood Young America where they still resided. Their marriage was blessed with five children, Dawn, Shelly, Brian, Bruce, Brad. Clayton and Elsie shared over 58 years of marriage.
Clayton worked as a farm hand, creamery truck driver, mechanic and also worked part time for the Carver County Sheriffs Department. He held numerous manufacturing positions including 15 years at Lake Region Ski Factory in Victoria. He was a member of All Saints Lutheran Church in Norwood Young America.
Clayton enjoyed fishing, hunting, bird watching, camping with his family in Minnesota State Parks, the Twins and Vikings, his team of horses, tinkering on cars and helping his son on the farm. He cherished the time spent with his family and friends especially when he was watching his kids and grandkids in sports or sharing a joke and a story with anyone he met.
Clayton passed away on Thursday, July 3, at Auburn Home in Waconia at the age of 77 years and 20 days.
