Jerry Raymond "Joe" Blodgett, age 74, of Farwell, passed away peacefully, at home on Wednesday, December 5, 2018 with family and friends at his side. He was born October 31, 1944 in Mount Pleasant, MI, the son of Earl and Myrle (Strong) Blodgett. Joe married Sandy Battleshaw on December 9, 1988 in Farwell.
He was employed at Maeder Brothers in Weidman for 48 years. Joe loved to hunt and his John Deere tractors. If you know Joe you know running his chainsaw was his passion.
Joe is survived by his wife of 29 years, Sandra; children, Richard (Debbie), Karen (Rob), Cindy (Shane), Kim (Bill), Kerri (Gary), Jeff (Roxanne); one sister, Carol Johnson; two sisters-in-law, Margaret Blodgett and Wanda Helderop; 20 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and many beloved extended family and close friends.
Jerry was preceded in death by one daughter, Marilee Blodgett; wife, Margaret Blodgett; his parents, Earl and Myrle; siblings, Irene Bowen, Elmo "Bud", Louise Helmer, Emerson, Allan, Dorothy and Wayne.
Funeral Services will take place at 11 a.m. on Saturday, December 8, 2018 at the Daggett Funeral Home in Barryton. The family with greet friends from 5 to 8 p.m. on Friday, December 7, 2018 at the funeral home. Interment will follow at W. Gilmore Cemetery.
