Glenn E. Greenfield, 81, of Arlington, died Thursday, Nov. 7, 2002, at the Fremont Area Medical Center.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 12, at the Arlington City Auditorium, with the Rv. Lynn Martin officiating. Interment will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Columbus (Neb.) Cemetery.
Visitation began Monday evening, but will also be held at the Arlington Auditorium from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Tuesday.

Glenn E. Greenfield was born May 6, 1921, in Lyons to Jay and Iva Greenfield. He grew up in rural northeastern Nebraska.

Following his first marriage on Aug. 17, 1946, to Beulah Ann McCauley in Marysville, Kan., he lived in Fremont, Idaho, Oregon and Arlington. He was employed at Sapp Brothers Ford in Blair until moving to Columbus, where he owned Greenfield's Body Shop.
After the death of his first wife in 1982, Mr. Greenfield moved back to Arlington in 1985. He married Aletha Newell on July 2, 1992, in Arlington, and the couple operated Greenfield Truck & Auto Body Shop in Arlington.

He was a member of the Izaak Walton League in Fremont, and the Arlington Veterans Club.

He is survived by his wife, Aletha; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Jay and Janice Greenfield of Omaha, and Jerry Greenfield of Fremont; two daughters and sons-in-law, Glenda and Jim Lundstrom of Columbus, and Nancy and Michael Holmes of Pueblo West, Colo.; two step-daughters, Sandra and Bill Witt of Stephens City, Va., and Lauri Newell of Arlington; sister, Verion Spitzer of Windsor, Calif.; and 11 grandchildren.

In addition to his first wife, Beulah; he was preceded in death by his sister, Eula Harding; and brothers, Forrest, Chuck, Irvin, Ernest and an infant brother.
