He was born in Attleboro, MA on September 4, 1925, son of the late Edward and Phyllis Washington.
Kenneth and Barbara married in Massachusetts and relocated to Connecticut in 1963 living briefly in Windsor Locks before settling in Manchester in the early seventies.
In 1989 the two moved to Windsor where they resided for 20 years.
Kenneth was a veteran of WWII and served in the European theater, seeing combat in France and Germany.
Kenneth worked professionally in the insurance industry as a claims adjuster for many years and was a retiree of The Hartford Insurance Group located in Hartford.
He was also a skilled martial artist holding the rank of Sandan in Kodokan Judo and the founder of the Northern CT School of Judo.
Ken also studied and taught Tai Chi Chuan.
Kenneth is survived by his wife, Barbara Washington of West Hartford and son, Kevin M. Washington and his wife Carol of Granville, MA.
He was predeceased by two daughters, Robyn and Barbara Washington.
A funeral service was held in the chapel of Carmon Funeral Home, Windsor.
Private burial and military honors took place in the Windsor Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
