Jay W. Fisher, 82, of Sinking Spring passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, January 16, 2016.

He was the loving husband of Janet H. (Reifsnyder) Fisher.

Born in West Reading on March 23, 1933, he was the son of the late Margaret (Kegerise) and John Fisher.

He was a 1950 graduate of Sinking Spring High School and a 1957 graduate of Wyomissing Polytechnical Institute.

He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War aboard the U.S.S. Rodman DMS from June 1950 to December 31, 1953.

He was a member of St. John's Reformed Church, Sinking Spring; a life member of Sinking Spring Fire Company; a member of the Gouglersville Fire Company; and part owner of the Glenside Hunting Club.

Jay was employed at Textile Machine Works and Rockwell International for 34 years and later at Magnatech in Fritztown, retiring in 1995. He also was a local Christmas Tree Grower for over 50 years. He enjoyed hunting with his son and working on the farm with him.

In addition to his wife he is survived by two daughters, Vicki L., wife of Ross J. Stowell, of Mohnton;
and Tina L. Thoman, of Landisville; a son,Jay L. Fisher, at home; two grandchildren, Kirsten (Stowell) wife of Ben Franco, of Shillington; and Ryan Stowell husband of Alicia Farley, of Kennett Square; and two great granddaughters, Maggie and Aidan Stowell.
