Opal Moore 86, of Decatur departed this life on Friday, July 13, 2018 at Decatur Memorial Hospital.

Opal was born on February 18, 1932 in Brownsville, Tennessee, the daughter of Willie Louis Jackson and Annie (Jelks) Jackson. Opal united in Holy Matrimony to George Moore who preceded her in death in 2002.

Opal was the type of person who loved to stay to herself. She enjoyed just being in the comfort of her home where she loved to cook and watch television.

Her loving memories will forever remain in the hearts of her children, Dianne (Michael) Hart of Decatur, Illinois and Larry (Victoria) Moore of Chicago, Illinois; sister, Mary Mitchell of Chicago, Illinois; brothers, Otha B. Mitchell of Brownsville, Tennessee and Horace Mitchell of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; 3 grandchildren, LaShondria Snipes of Jackson, Tennessee, Michael J. Hart of Decatur, Illinois and Larry Moore, Jr. of Bellwood, Illinois; great granddaughter, Alena Snipes; grand goddaughter, Zamaria Hamilton; two sisters in-law, Virginia Brummett of Brownsville Tennessee and Ella Mare Jackson of Gary, Indiana; one uncle, C.B. Jelks of Brownsville, Tennessee; special niece, Mildora (Dan) Adams; cousin, Margaret Matthews; special friend, Ada Owens; Chelp care giver, Lois Winters and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Opal was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; four sisters, Willie B. Cobb, Joan Ethel Jacox, Ella Mae Mitchell and Annie Mae Mitchell and two brothers, Charlie B. Jackson and George Mitchell.
