Tracy Vernard Carter

Tracy Vernard Carter, 32, of 4132 Ware Street, Blackshear, entered into eternal rest Tuesday morning, July 3, 2007, at Baptist Medical Center in Jacksonville, FL.

He was born July 9, 1974 to Elder Arthur and Hazel Carter. He was the youngest of five children. He graduated from Pierce Co. High School and was presently employed at Swisher Sweet Cigar Factory in Jacksonville, FL.

He accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior at an early age with Piney Grove Freewill Baptist Church. He was taught by his parents to Love the Lord with all his heart and to continue his spiritual growth in the Lord. He became a member of Zion Missionary Baptist Church in 2007.

I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course and I have kept the "faith". II Timothy 4:7

His life was song. God wrote the words and his deeds set them to music.

His love for Christ was exemplified by work in the community as a barber. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Arthur and Elizabeth Moody and Slim Carter.

He leaves to cherish his memories, his parents Elder Arthur and Hazel Carter, Blackshear; two brothers, Arthur Carter Jr. (Natasha), Blackshear and Chief Petty Officer Norris Carter (Bernice), Memphis, TN; two sisters, Arlene (Fleming) Milledge and Beverly Middleton, both of Blackshear; his grandmother, Mary Carter, and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, cousins and loving friends.

A celebration of life and love began Friday, July 6, at the wake. Inspirational words from the 23rd Psalm were given by Elder Marie Rainge and remarks were given by his parents and other words.

Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 7, from the Zion Missionary Baptist Church, 522 Lee Street, Blackshear.

The celebration was culminated with words of comfort from his pastor, the Rev. Jimmie Green, undershepherd.

Interment followed in Blackshear City Cemetery with the releasing of his birthday balloons.

Active pallbearers were Jeremy Carter, Chris Foster, Damon Moody, Kenny NeSmith, Willie McKinnie and Robert Moody.

Honorary pallbearers were Ken Moody, Rodney Moody, Waldo Moody, Richey Moody, Stevey Moody, and Micheal Murchinson.

Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Rainge Memorial Chapel Inc. of Blackshear.
