Virginia Lincoln was born Sept. 10, 1923, in Webster Township, Madison County, to Edward and Bernice (Carpenter) Thomas and was a 1943 graduate of Macksburg High School. She moved to Des Moines and on March 25,1950, married Gerald E. "Pete" Lincoln. In 1961, Virginia started working as a binder for Meredith Print Company, retiring in 1987.
She was preceded in death by her husband; one son, Jerry Lincoln; a brother, Raymond Thomas; and two sisters, Ardis Thomas and Marion Henderson.
She is survived by two sons, Gary Lincoln of Altoona and Denny Lincoln of Des Moines; a sister, Helen Thomas of St. Charles, Mo.; and five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
