Burton Paul Dye, 63, died suddenly at his home in Earlham Feb. 20, 2006.

Burt Dye was born Oct. 6, 1942, in Sublette, Kan., to Burton and Rose Mary (Schupman) Dye. He was a 1962 graduate of Aransas Pass High School in Aransas Pass, Texas. He entered the United States Army and served in Germany during the Vietnam War. On June 1, 1968, he married Ann Lange in Chicago, Ill. Burt was employed as a supervisor of check processing at the Federal Reserve Bank in Chicago and retired from Federal Home Land Bank in 2000. He was a member of the Earlham Fire Department, Iowa Firefighters Association and Earlham Library Board.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his wife, Ann, of Earlham; one daughter, Jeannette Dye of Ventura; and a sister, Peggy Dye Jones of Aransas Pass, Texas.
