He was born on December 14, 1941 in Salisbury, a son of the late Raymond and Elizabeth Parsons.
Raymond proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy. He retired from Pepsi, after 34 years of service.
He is survived by his children, Angelia Farnum (Rob) of Delmar, Tracy Wagner (Kenny) of Felton, Raymond Parsons, Jr. (Dawn) of Delmar, Valerie Paquin (Gary) of Glen Falls, NY, and Natalie Shane (Joey) of Taneytown, MD; nine grandchildren; four great grandchildren; three sisters, Linda Brittingham of Seaford, Beth Johnson (Wayne) of Salisbury, and Deborah Jones (Russell) of Pittsville; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 29 years, Harriett Parsons.
A visitation for family and friends will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Friday, July 15, 2016 at Short Funeral Home, 13 E. Grove Street in Delmar. The funeral service will begin at 12:00 p.m. The Reverend Harry O. Wachsmuth will officiate. The interment with military honors will follow at Parsons Cemetery in Salisbury.
