Memorial services for Bill Bennett, 73, of Grand Saline, are scheduled for 2 p.m., Monday, October 28, 2019 at Bartley Funeral Home with John Truett and Joe Bolin officiating.

Mr. Bennett passed away October 26, 2019 at his residence in Grand Saline. He was born November 17, 1945, in Dallas to Billy Joe and Bonnie Earl Hicks Bennett.

Bill moved to Grand Saline in 1977 and was a member of the Church of Christ of Van. He served in the United States Army, was a former Dallas police officer, and owned and operated a trucking business for many years. He was a devoted son, brother, husband, dad, Pa Pa, and father-in-law.

He is proceeded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Teena Bennett of Grand Saline; son, Brad Bennett and wife Beth of Shreveport, Louisiana; three daughters, Gaylene Rogers and husband Joseph of Grand Saline, Laura Lane of Benton, Arkansas, and Rhonda Truett and husband John of Grand Saline; brother, Bob Bennett of Grand Saline; sister, Brenda Russell and husband Gaylon of Goshen; twelve grandchildren, Brandon Rogers and wife Mandy, Alysen Best and husband Jim, Mercedes Nobles and husband Michael, Dakota Lane, Kirsteena O’Malley and husband Kenny, Austen Truett and wife Morgan, Judsen Truett, Carsen Truett, Zach Bennett, Patrick Bennett, Ella Bennett, and Colton Bennett; seven great-grandchildren, Alicia Rogers, Karlee Rogers, Mykensie Rogers, Bentley Best, Archer Best, Lilliana Best, and Lucille O’Malley; and numerous other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers will be Brandon Rogers, Dakota Lane, Austen Truett, Judsen Truett, Carsen Truett, Zach Bennett, Patrick Bennett, and Colton Bennett.

The family will receive friends 1 p.m., Monday at the funeral home.
