Emily Jo Russell (Ruhnke) of Von Ormy began her joyous life in eternity with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, on Thursday, October25th. Born in San Antonio on September 20, 1946, Emily was the only child of Joseph and Virginia Ruhnke. She was a graduate of Southwest High School, Our Lady of the Lake University, and the University of Georgia.

A friend to all she met, Emily was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She is survived by her husband Charles “Mike” Russell, her son Mike “Mick” (Carey) Frazier of Hondo, her daughters Melinda (James) DeCock of LaCoste, and Kellie (Sean) Farrell of Orchard Park, NY. Grandchildren are Justin (25), Cole (19), and Neeley (17) Frazier; Mason (23), KyLee (21), MaKenzee (17), Logan (15) DeCock; Ryan (26), Dillon (24), Cameron (21) Farrell.

Naturally grieving their loss, Emily’s family finds peace in their Lord and Savior Jesus and knowing they will see her again one day as she is full of incomprehensible joy and free of any pain with Him in eternity.

In lieu of flowers or plants, donations can be made to St Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
