Bradley Allan Nelson, age 58, of Dassel, died Friday, December 20, 2013, at his home in Dassel.

Bradley Allan Nelson, the son of Lona (Beach) and Joseph Nelson, was born on August 28, 1955, in Hutchinson, Minnesota. He was baptized on November 27, 1955, at Peace Lutheran Church in Hutchinson and confirmed at Gethsemane Lutheran Church on April 26, 1970. He graduated from the Dassel Cokato High School in 1973, and later attended Willmar Vocational Technical School in the Culinary Arts.

For several years, he spent time in Texas and Florida as a construction worker. He was an accomplished artist and enjoyed drawing and practicing his culinary skills. He enjoyed fishing, the beauty of the great outdoors and birdwatching. Brad had been an active member of the Dassel zoning and planning committee and took great pride in his work.

Bradley is survived by his father, Joseph Nelson, siblings: William Nelson, of Dassel, Robert (Amy) Nelson of Litchfield, Jerad Nelson of Dassel, Julie (Jeff) Holtz of Dassel, and Janeen McDonell (special friend Dennis Linden) of Hutchinson; nieces and nephews: Dylan Holtz, Katie McDonell, Andrea Nelson, Mitchel Larson, Devan Nelson, Aric Nelson, Logan Nelson, and Gavin Nelson. He is also survived by several aunts and uncles and his personal caretaker, Connie Hurley.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Lona Nelson on February 18, 2006, his maternal and paternal grandparents, and two nephews, Joseph Nelson and Jeremy Holtz.
