Anne Derryberry Carter, 61, wife of Daryl W. Carter, died October 24, 2019, in her home. Born November 27, 1957 in Shelbyville, TN, she was the daughter of Susan Thompson Derryberry of Shelbyville, TN, and the late Dr. John S. Derryberry. Mrs. Carter was both a graduate of Ashland Community College and the University of Kentucky College of Nursing, where she received her BSN, Cum Laude. She was employed as a Pre-Op nurse at the University of Kentucky Medical Center. Anne was a member and elder of South Elkhorn Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). She was well known for her specialty, iced lemon cookies, which she baked for the annual Fall Festival. Anne was also a past co-treasurer of the Paul Laurence Dunbar HS Marching Band. One of Anne’s favorite hobbies and passions was knitting – you could always find her sitting somewhere with a ball of yarn and needles, working on a new project – usually making it for someone else.
