Dorene (Elder) Evans, 79, of Rochelle, Texas went to her Heavenly Home on Thursday, October 24, 2019 in Rochelle.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 27, 2019 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at the Heritage Funeral Home in Brady. Funeral Service will be held Monday, October 28, 2019 at 10:00 am at Heritage Funeral Home. Interment will be at Rest Haven in Brady.
Dorene was born on February 11, 1940 in Guadalupe County, Texas to Pleas Elder and Minnie Pearl (Williford) Elder.
Dorene and Richard married on February 15, 1958 in New Braunfels, Texas.
She was a resident of McCulloch County for sixty plus years. She loved to sing, work in her flower bed, going to church and spending time with her family. She was a very simple lady.
She was baptized at Camp Valley Church. Dorene was a strong, dedicated woman whose faith carried her through and gave her joy even in the midst of the struggles in her life. There is bittersweet rejoicing as she is now pain free and glorifying her Savior and God.
Dorene is survived by her husband, Richard Evans of Rochelle; three sons, RA Evans and wife Arlene of San Angelo, Sam Evans and wife Becky of Oklahoma City, OK and Calvin Evans and wife Delilah of Beeville; one daughter, Loretta Shields of Round Rock; one sister Margie Rice of Leesville; one brother, Donald Elder of Leesville; twelve grandchildren, twenty-eight great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Dorene is preceded in death by her parents, three sisters and one brother.
Pallbearers: Kevin Evans, Chris Evans, Ray Evans, Ryan Shields, Tyson Verastegui, Jerred Burke, Ramey Saenz and Gabe Loera.
