Dorothy Heckathorn was born Aug. 21, 1926, in Ekalaka, Mont., to Louie and Margaret Rose. On Oct. 6, 1946, she married Floyd "Bud" Heckathorn in Polson, Mont. A homemaker, Dorothy resided in the state of Washington prior to moving to Winterset in 1988.
She was preceded in death by her husband and four siblings — Evelyn, Ralph, Marvin and Mable.
She is survived by two daughters, Wanda Neuenkirk of Winterset and Gail Mattson of Walla Walla, Wash.; two sons, Floyd Leo Heckathorn of Kearneysville, W.V., and Ron Heckathorn of Duluth, Minn.; and 13 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
