Nellie Vee Wilson (Nelle) age 97, of Alcoa, passed away peacefully Saturday morning, October 26, 2019 at her current residence of Cumming, GA.

She was surrounded by her family. Nelle was born on August 27, 1922, in Newport, TN, being one of eight children born to Amanda Elizabeth and George Washington Crumb.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, William Jesse Wilson, her parents, five brothers and 2 sisters.

She is survived by daughter Sue Farmer (her husband John) of Murfreesboro, TN and Gwyn Hanie of Cumming, GA; two granddaughters, Kristi Haney (her husband David) and Lisa Mangrum; and four great granddaughters, Rylee and Chloe Haney and Bailey and Brynn Mangrum.

Nelle was a resident of Alcoa for over 75 years. She was an active member of Maryville First Baptist Church, a 20-year Girl Scout leader, and head of the AFS program for Alcoa High School. Nelle was known by many for her cosmetic sales at Proffitts Department Store becoming one of the top twelve Elizabeth Arden consultants in the country. A lover of travel and all sports, she was a faithful follower of UT football, the Lady Vols, and the Atlanta Braves. Nelle will be remembered for her forever smile, her love for life, her love for family and her love for friends.

In celebration of her life, family and friends are invited to gather Tuesday, October 29th from 1:00 to 2:30 pm at McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home. A graveside service will follow immediately at Sherwood Memorial Gardens in Alcoa.

In following Nelle’s wishes, the family asks that in lieu of flowers donations be made to one’s favorite charity.
