He was the loving husband of Mary Lou (Olena) Herr, with whom he shared over 67 years of marriage.
Born in Columbia, PA, Robert was a son of the late Loyal A. and Elva May (Stoutzenberger) Herr.
Robert proudly served in the United States Navy. He then worked as a warehouse dock worker who in his spare time enjoyed shooting pool, golfing, crossword puzzles, watching football and Westerns, and attending events at the New Cumberland Senior Center.
In addition to his wife, Robert is survived by four children: Robert E. Herr (Dorothy) of Columbia, PA, Bruce A. Herr (Sharon) of Hinesville, GA, Beth M. Herr (Deborah Stoyek) of Camp Hill, PA, and Carl E. Herr (Sherry) of Selinsgrove, PA; 7 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents and four sibling: his sister Beatrice Heiland and his brothers Bill, Harry, and Russell Herr.
A Committal Ceremony with full Military Honors will be held at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery on Friday, November 1st, 2019 at 1:00 PM.
