Professional Football Player. He played the cornerback position for both the National Football League's Cleveland Browns and the American Football League's Houston Oilers from 1959 to 1966. He played football and baseball collegiately at the University of Florida before being drafted by the Cleveland Browns in the ninth round of the 1958 NFL Draft. He went on to play for the Browns for the seven years before joining the Houston Oilers of the American Football League in 1966. During his tenure with the Browns, he was named Second-team All Pro in 1964 and played in two Pro Bowls (1960 and 1963). He was also a part of the Browns' NFL Championship-winning team in 1964. He was released by the Browns at the start of the 1966 season and signed with the AFL's Houston Oilers. He played his final season with the Oilers in 1966 before retiring at the end of the season. His career statistics included 31 interceptions, 557 INT return yards, and 4 touchdowns in 105 games played. During his career, he was involved in the National Football League Players Association. In 2017, he was inducted into the Cleveland Browns Legends Hall.
