Wanda Lee Owen, daughter of the late Myron and Sarah (Higgins) Mitchell was born April 25, 1946 in Concordia, Ks. and departed this life on October 24, 2019 at Poplar Bluff, Mo. She had attained the age of seventy-three years, five months and twenty-nine days.
Wanda had resided in Ellsinore since 1983 and was formerly of Nebraska. She was of the Baptist faith and attended the New Hope Church in Ellsinore, Mo. She enjoyed horseback riding, gardening, doing crafts, painting and raising rabbits. She was a wonderful person who loved her children and grandchildren. Wanda was very resourceful and full of knowledge, and had a great personality.
She is survived by one daughter, Stacy (Owen) Wallace and husband Robert of Poplar Bluff, Mo; two sons, Michael Orie Owen and wife Donna of Fairdealing, Mo., and Christopher Owen of Ellsinore, Mo; one sister, Connie Mitchell of Salina, Ks; eight grandchildren, Mitchell Owen and wife Kali, Tyler Owen, Brittney Owen, Kaydee Owen, Alley Owen, Michael Orie Owen Jr., Maxwell Owen and Sara Owen; one great grandchild, Bentley Owen; and one daughter-in-law, Kimberly Owen; and many relatives and friends who mourn her passing.
In addition to her parents, Wanda was preceded in death by two brothers, Jack and Charles Mitchell and one sister, Marymar Stolzenburg.
