Bray was devoted to his wife and family and loved spending time with them above all else. He moved to Mt. Vernon as a young man and, after serving in the Army, worked as a truck driver for many years. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially fishing, and was known by all as a prankster. He married Linda Simmons in 1969.
Bray is survived by: sister Glenda Scherer of Idaho; children, Larry (Margie) Bray of Wichita, Kan., Klista (Russell) Bateman and Aaron (Kelli) Bray of Mt. Vernon; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by: his wife; his parents; brother, Carl; and sister Janice VanPelt. A Celebration of Life service was held at Covenant Baptist Church, Mt. Vernon, Aug. 20, 2019.
