Mrs. Emily Ann Thompson, 71, of LaGrange, passed away Saturday, November 7, 2015 at West Georgia Health, LaGrange. Ann was born January 18, 1944, in Opelika, Alabama. Ann drove a school bus for 28 years for the Troup County School Systems. She was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church On The Square. Ann is survived by her husband James O. "Jim" Thompson of LaGrange; son Mark Thompson of LaGrange; granddaughters Brooke Thompson and Lindsey Thompson of LaGrange; sister Margaret (husband Randy) Nation of LaGrange; several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, James C. "Red" and Adell Morris. The family will be receiving friends from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 10, 2015, at the First Baptist Church On The Square. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, at the church, with Dr. Paul Baxter, Rev. Cade Farris and Rev. Brad Thompson officiating. A private entombment will be held at a later date. The family has requested in lieu of flowers that donations be made to the First Baptist Church Richard Shiver Sunday School Class or a favorite charity of your choice.
